The human race is no new thing, we have been walking the Earth for over 200,000 years. But much has changed. Humans today are (obviously) very different than humans thousands of years ago. Not only do we look, talk, and think differently, but we live differently. In biblical times, the average man could live to well over 900 years old. Today, the average individual in the United States only lives to 77 years. Our average lifespan has decreased dramatically, even to less than ten percent of what it was. So why such a change, especially one so extreme? I think this: Our lifestyle today compared to olden days is much different, much quicker, much more fast paced. Thus, because we are nowadays able to travel and communicate so much quicker than we use to, we have actually caused ourselves to not only live faster, but to die faster. Today, we can pick up a phone and be talking to someone on the completely other side of the planet within seconds. We can travel by driving anywhere at amazing speeds. Back then, you had to walk or ride your horse, extremely limiting where you can go in an amount of time. You can do in a matter of hours today what would sometimes have taken you years to do in olden times. It seems we are just digging ourselves into a never ending hole. Our advanced, lazy lifestyle that has helped make life so much easier is taking its toll methinks.

So I'm in a car driving down the road going forty miles an hour. I take my cellular phone out of my pocket, toss it straight up in the air, and catch it in my hand again without having to move my hand anywhere. So I start to think... If I throw my phone straight up, would it not, to the bystander on the side of the road, be traveling at the same speed as the car, in this case, forty miles an hour? While the phone is in the air, it is still traveling forward which is why I don't have to maneuver my hand anywhere to catch it. Thus, an example of a cell phone traveling at forty miles an hour, safe and sound. That is awesome.

"Five sixteen, restate my assumptions:

One: Mathematics is the language of nature.
Two: Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers.
Three: If you graph the numbers of any system, patterns emerge.

Therefore, there are patterns everywhere in nature.

Evidence: The cycling of disease epidemics, the wax and wane of caribou populations, sun spot cycles, the rise and fall of the Nile."

The other day, I was driving in the car with Brittany when she says, "Think if you could see all of the sounds waves around. Think of how many there would be!" She continued describing how crowded and unorganized the world would look. She talked about light waves, x-rays, and all the other invisible things the naked eye cannot see. "I bet the world looks cRaZY to God!" Amen to that Brittany. Amen to that.

Your mouth has two parts: your mouth, and your jaw. You are always in control of both of these. For example, you can open your jaw without opening your mouth. You can open your mouth without opening your jaw. And, you can open both of them at the same time. Trippy to think about...

One day, a buddy of mine got too curious and decided to try cocaine. Liking it, he continued to use it until he became addicted. He started to get so desperate for it that he spent all the money he had towards the addiction. His craving remained, even after all his money was spent, so he tried to bargain with his dealer. They decided that if he would give the dealer a ride to and from work, the product would be supplied for free. Because the cocaine had such a strong grasp on him, my friend accepted. As they passed a local high school one day on the way to work, the dealer told my friend to pull over and wait because he had something he needed to do. My buddy did so, and waited in the car for several minutes, only to see the dealer come out of the school doors in handcuffs and surrounded by a swarm of policemen. They came over and pulled my friend out of the car, handcuffed him, and took him to jail. The sting set up by the police was a success, yet again. MORAL: Police are not stupid. Don't take chances, don't get too comfortable. Keep your distance and stay smart & cautious.

Our world today is run under the influence of greed. Think about it. People gain power by gaining money. The more money you make, the more power you get. These powerful people then take their money to make businesses which are run by other people who are only working under the influence of greed themselves as they wait patiently for payday to come around. We always want more money, higher wages, lower prices. But this is only to a certain extent. There are those few people who money has no effect on, people who can see right through its contagious poison. Sadly, I am not one of them (ha). Money has damaged our society, it seems damaged it more than assisted it. It has infected the minds of millions, driving them to want more power, more wealth. It is a trading solution that has backfired and is causing more and more tension each and every year. May the power of greed someday be overcome, and the difference between want to need be more clearly defined.

A little sketch I drew up during Counsel Aid, 6th period. It seems I can come up with some pretty cool designs if I'm bored enough. Every line in this pic was drawn with a straightedge ruler. Just ignore the little part where the ruler moved on me...

One thing that we as humans will never be able to perfect is approximating the amount of time left for a computer task, and that includes showing the amount of remaining battery in our wonderful electronics. The battery was first invented in 1799, over two hundred years ago, yet its amount of power remaining still remains a mystery to us. What can predict when a battery is really low on energy? The truth is, we really have no idea. Battery scientists have spent thousands of hours of labor trying to resolve this issue, but no further breakthroughs have yet been obtained. Will the truth ever be revealed, or will it remain mysterious forever such as its close brother, the gas gage? The world may never know.

What are the featured categories?

I like to categorize my thoughts into five different categories. Let me explain:

General Thoughts consist of thoughts that usually make you say, "That's crazy to think about" or "I've never thought of that before". Many people find these entertaining to browse through. They blow your mind. Only read when wearing a helmet.

Words of Revolution are thoughts, usually lyrical quotes, that pertain to the world as a whole. I consider these as a wake up call, an eye-opener that we as a humanity are moving in the opposite direction that we should be. Anyone got a Reverse card handy?

Quotes by Quin are thoughts that I have and then exclaim, "Holy crap, that's genius!". I then have the nerve to quote myself. You can too.

Words of Wisdom are thoughts, usually lyrical quotes, aimed at you personally to help better yourself as a person. Kapeesh?

Quotes are general quotes that I have been exposed to, usually through reading or heard during conversations. They cover a broad area of subject, but do not apply to any of the other categories. Loners.
